As the All Progressives Congress (APC) marks over a decade in power, many Nigerians are expressing frustration over what they describe as “10 wasted years” with little to no tangible development.
Social media commentators and citizens have highlighted that subtracting 10 years from their current age coincides with the year 2015, when APC assumed power at the federal level. Many Nigerians argue that, since then, sectors across the economy—education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture—have seen negligible growth.
Instead, they say, corruption has flourished, citing numerous scandals and perceived mismanagement of public funds. Citizens have shared examples of stalled projects, rising living costs, and declining public services, which they argue reflect a lack of meaningful progress during the party’s tenure.
The ongoing debate underscores widespread discontent and raises questions about accountability, governance, and the future direction of Nigeria’s leadership. Many Nigerians are calling for urgent reforms and a shift in priorities to ensure that public resources translate into real development.
