Emir of Kano, Dahiru-Bauchi Prays for Peace as 3 Million Converge in Katsina for 2026 Mawlid Nabiyy



The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Dahiru Bauchi, led prayers for peace and unity in Nigeria during the 2026 Mawlid Nabiyy celebrations, drawing an estimated 3 million participants to Katsina.

The massive gathering highlighted the enduring influence of Islamic scholarship and devotion in the country.

Governor Aminu Bello Radda, addressing the faithful, commended the gathering, saying, “This event reaffirms our legacy of faith, scholarship, and the guiding principles of Islam. It is a testament to the deep-rooted values and traditions that continue to shape our communities.”

The celebration, held annually, included Quranic recitations, lectures on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and prayers for national unity, security, and prosperity. The Emir of Kano emphasized the need for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among Nigeria’s diverse communities.

Participants from across Nigeria joined in the spiritual observances, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the region this year.
