Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has set the record straight on her relationship with fellow actress Annie Idibia, amid circulating rumors and media narratives.
During a recent interview on Naija 102FM with Onoge Tega Ben, Jegede addressed questions about her early career appearance in 2Baba’s iconic African Queen music video, a role that resurfaced in public conversations during her 20-year-on-stage celebration.
Responding to speculation, Jegede criticized bloggers for selectively highlighting stories that suit their narratives while ignoring positive moments. She described some reports as “very shameless” and “very unprofessional”, accusing media outlets of distorting facts.
Addressing claims about her social media interactions with Annie Idibia, Jegede said bluntly: “There was never any reason for us to unfollow each other. I’ve never followed her before, she’s never followed me before.”
Clarifying their relationship, she added that it was strictly professional: “I walked into a studio, I saw everybody, I shot my part and I left. In 21 years, I have only seen Annie two or three times.”
Jegede’s statement underscores that their connection was limited to the African Queen video, dispelling rumors of personal disagreements or falling outs between the two actresses.
