Young Farmers in Nigeria (YoFiN) has taken its advocacy for youth-driven agricultural innovation to the continental stage.
At the just-concluded Inaugural Africa Digital Agriculture Conference hosted in Adisa Baba, Ethiopia, YoFiN’s representative, Ekoh-Udechukwu Purity, featured as a speaker on the first high-level panel session.The session focused on the pivotal role of African governments in sustaining, supporting, and scaling digital agriculture, especially for the next generation of farmers.
During the discussion, Purity spotlighted the AGROWAYS Platform (Buy, Sell, Save) a homegrown digital solution currently empowering young farmers across Nigeria. She explained how the platform is: Opening access to ready markets, Providing secure savings options tailored to farmers, Enabling farmers to sell produce seamlessly and profitably and Driving productivity, digital inclusion, and financial independence.
She emphasized that tools like AGROWAYS are essential to transforming agriculture from subsistence to profitability, particularly for youth.
“It was an honour to contribute to the conversation on the future of agriculture in Africa. Young people must be at the centre of digital transformation if we want a sustainable and food-secure continent,” Purity stated.
YoFiN’s participation at the conference highlights Nigeria’s growing role in shaping Africa’s agricultural future, as stakeholders push for technology-driven systems that create jobs, boost efficiency, and enhance food security across the continent.
