Onitsha-Based Startup One Grid Energy Wins MTN Tech Challenge, to Represent Nigeria in South Africa

 One Grid Energy, a tech startup based in Onitsha, Anambra State, has emerged as the winner of the MTN Pachipanda Challenge, a technology innovation competition centered on sustainability, climate change, and pollution.

The startup team, comprising Valentine Kosisochukwu Nnamani, Emmanuel Chinecherem Ezea, and Ogochukwu Promise Ogene, triumphed over more than 2,000 applicants to secure the top prize. Their victory earned them a ₦3 million cash prize, laptops, and an all-expense-paid trip to South Africa, where they will represent Nigeria on the international stage.

The MTN Pachipanda Challenge aims to empower innovators tackling environmental challenges, providing a platform for scalable solutions that address pressing issues such as climate change and pollution.

One Grid Energy’s win underscores the growing prominence of Nigerian tech startups in global innovation spaces and highlights the potential of homegrown solutions to tackle environmental challenges.
