The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has dismissed all allegations leveled against Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, describing them as baseless and lacking credibility.
The statement was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu.According to Onanuga, a thorough examination of the accusations revealed that they were founded entirely on rumors and speculation, with no factual evidence to support them. “The Office of the National Security Adviser has thoroughly examined all the allegations against Matawalle and found nothing credible. The accusations were based on rumors and unfounded speculation, with people simply fabricating claims,” he said.
The adviser emphasized that the clearance underscores the importance of relying on verified information before making public accusations against public officials. He further urged citizens and media stakeholders to exercise caution and responsibility when sharing information that could damage reputations.
Governor Matawalle, who has faced multiple allegations in recent months, welcomed the clarification, asserting that the findings vindicate him and reaffirm his commitment to transparent governance.
The statement from the Office of the National Security Adviser is expected to quell speculation and reinforce the government’s stance against misinformation, highlighting the need for due process and factual reporting in public discourse.
