A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after suggesting that singer Bella Shmurda cannot score a major hit song without the late artist Mohbad.
In a viral post, the man claimed Bella’s biggest successes have come through his collaborations with Mohbad, adding that the singer was fortunate to have recently signed Fola O, who he believes could help sustain his music career.
“Bella Shmurda no fit get hit song if he no put Mohbad inside. Thank God say he sign Fola O, if not where he for dey by now,” the man wrote, drawing mixed reactions across social media.
Fans of Bella Shmurda quickly defended him, pointing to his solo hits like Vision 2020, Cash App, and New Born Fela as proof of his talent and independence. Others, however, acknowledged the undeniable chemistry Bella shared with Mohbad, which produced fan favorites such as Pariwo and Triumphant.
Industry observers say the comments reflect ongoing conversations about legacy, collaboration, and the role of partnerships in Nigerian music success stories.
