Nigeria Prioritizes Regional Dialogue in Burkina Faso Visit — Maitama Tuggar

Nigeria continues to underscore the importance of dialogue and regional cohesion in its engagements across West Africa, according to Hon. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking after leading a high-level Nigerian delegation to Burkina Faso on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Tuggar said the visit aimed to convey Nigeria’s message of solidarity to President Ibrahim Traoré and to discuss shared regional priorities.

“The visit provided an opportunity to review pathways for strengthening #NigeriaBurkinaFasoRelations and advancing regional integration,” Tuggar said, emphasizing that sustained dialogue remains key to resolving issues and fostering cooperation.

The delegation also addressed a sensitive matter involving Nigerian Air Force pilots and crew, with Tuggar noting that discussions reaffirmed the effectiveness of diplomacy in handling complex security and bilateral concerns.

The visit reflects Nigeria’s continued commitment to collaborative solutions in West Africa, promoting peace, stability, and mutual development across the region.
