Lady Shares Bizarre DNA Story: Man’s Children Carry Genetic Markers of His Unborn Twin

A Nigerian lady has sparked intense online debate after narrating a shocking DNA discovery that left many questioning science and genetics.

According to her, a man who decided to conduct DNA testing on his children was stunned when the results showed they did not match his genetic markers directly—but instead carried the markers of his twin brother who was never born.

The lady explained that the man had what is known in science as a case of “vanishing twin syndrome” or chimerism, where a twin dies in the womb and some of their genetic material fuses with the surviving sibling. This rare phenomenon means the surviving twin can carry two sets of DNA—his own and that of the unborn sibling.

Experts note that in such cases, the DNA in a man’s blood or saliva may differ from the DNA passed on to his children through his reproductive cells, leading to confusing paternity results.

The revelation has left many Nigerians both stunned and curious, with heated conversations online about how biology can sometimes challenge common assumptions about DNA and fatherhood.
