Bandit Leader Bello Turji Accuses Minister Matawalle of Shielding Criminals

Notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji has made shocking claims against Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, alleging that he has been shielding fellow bandits and providing them asylum within the Government House.

According to Turji, the protected bandits continue to carry out terror attacks and maintain bases in forests across the state, while allegedly enjoying safe haven from government authorities.

“They have been given protection and refuge even as they operate freely in the forests,” Turji reportedly stated.

The allegations have sparked a wave of reactions online, with citizens and security analysts questioning the implications of such claims on national security and governance. Critics have called for immediate investigations into the minister’s alleged involvement and the broader issue of banditry in the region.

Security experts warn that if verified, such claims could undermine public trust, embolden criminal networks, and complicate ongoing efforts to tackle armed groups in Northern Nigeria.

The federal government has yet to issue a statement regarding Turji’s allegations.
