In a viral post making rounds on social media, the man claimed that working with Davido has not translated into long-term success for some artistes, citing May D and Dammy Krane as examples.
“Avoid Davido if you wan blow. If I dey lie, ask May D and Dammy Krane,” he wrote, sparking debates among music fans.
May D, who was once signed to Square Records and later associated with Davido’s DMW, has often spoken about challenges in his career despite his early promise. Similarly, Dammy Krane, who collaborated with Davido on hits in the past, has had a rocky relationship with the DMW boss, with their fallout playing out publicly.
The comment has since divided opinions. While some fans argued that Davido has helped elevate several artistes to stardom, including Peruzzi, Mayorkun, and Dremo, others insisted that success in the industry goes beyond affiliation with big names.
Neither Davido nor his camp has responded to the viral statement as of press time.
