Terrorists Attack Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi, Several Students Abducted

Early this morning, around 5:52 a.m., terrorists reportedly attacked Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting several students and leaving one staff member dead. A security guard was also injured during the assault, according to residents.

Local eyewitnesses told HumAngle that the attackers had not moved far from the area, prompting urgent calls for intervention from both Federal and State Government authorities to rescue the abducted students and secure the school.

The incident has reignited criticism of the government’s response to banditry and insecurity in Northwest Nigeria. Observers note that intelligence had reportedly indicated movements of criminal groups from Zamfara, raising questions about why security agencies did not take preemptive action or coordinate ambushes to neutralize the threat.

Citizens and concerned Nigerians have expressed alarm over the worsening security situation, emphasizing the need for immediate, decisive action to protect schools, students, and local communities. Many have also called for prayers and divine protection amid the crisis.

“It has become clear that government authorities and security agencies in Nigeria must rise fully to confront this menace of banditry. At this point, citizens must intensify prayers, because there is something deeper and unspoken behind the worsening insecurity,” a concerned observer said.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the escalating threat to education and public safety in Northwest Nigeria, highlighting the urgent need for stronger intelligence coordination, proactive security measures, and community protection initiatives.
