Fast-rising artiste Mavo has opened up on how his collaboration with global Afrobeats star Wizkid was initiated, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes process that led to the song.
In a recent interview, Mavo explained that he was approached weeks before the project took shape. According to him:
“I knew about it a month before it happened. They came to me. DJ Tunez texted me in September saying, ‘Wiz and you should do a song. Can you send the chorus?’ I’m like, ‘OK, can you send me the beat?’ Then he sent it. I just did my thing.”
Mavo’s account confirms that the collaboration was not spontaneous but the result of early planning and coordination orchestrated by DJ Tunez, Wizkid’s long-time collaborator and official DJ.
