Kano Pillars GM Ahmed Musa Issues Unreserved Apology After Match Chaos Against Shooting Stars

In the wake of the chaotic scenes during Kano Pillars’ recent clash with Shooting Stars Sports Club, Ahmed Musa, General Manager of Kano Pillars FC, has issued a deep and heartfelt apology to all parties affected.

The incident, which saw Pillars’ officials and players chase the match referee following a Shooting Stars equalizer, drew national attention and widespread condemnation from fans, analysts, and the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

In a detailed statement, Musa described the episode as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable”, emphasizing that such behavior does not reflect the values, identity, or proud history of Kano Pillars.

“This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect, values that must never be overshadowed by violence or indiscipline,” Musa said.

He tendered an unreserved apology to Shooting Stars players, coaches, officials, referees, league authorities, NPFL partners, and football fans across Nigeria and beyond.

“Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” Musa added.

Musa further pledged that Kano Pillars would work closely with relevant authorities to identify those responsible for the incident and ensure they face full consequences.

Acknowledging that apologies alone are insufficient, the GM outlined plans for internal reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future. He urged fans to demonstrate passion and loyalty through respect and discipline, rather than destructive behavior.

“This must be a turning point for us. We must remind the world that our love for this club can be powerful without being destructive, that our passion can lift its image, not stain it,” Musa stated.

Concluding his statement, Musa reaffirmed Kano Pillars’ commitment to restoring trust, respect, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria.

The apology has been widely shared and discussed online, with many lauding Musa for taking full responsibility and calling for stricter enforcement of discipline to safeguard the integrity of Nigerian football.
