Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has confirmed a major collaboration with gospel and highlife legend Yinka Ayefele on his upcoming album — a move that has thrilled fans across generations.
Adekunle Gold, known for blending Afrobeats with alternative sounds, revealed that he personally traveled to Ibadan, Oyo State, to meet Ayefele at his Music House Studio. According to him, the visit was driven by deep admiration for Ayefele’s inspiring musical journey and enduring impact on Nigerian music.
Speaking about the collaboration, Adekunle Gold said, “I’ve always respected Baba Yinka Ayefele for his resilience and timeless music. I knew I wanted him on this album, and I had to go to Ibadan myself to make it happen.”
The session reportedly produced a soulful fusion of Adekunle Gold’s modern sound with Ayefele’s signature gospel-highlife rhythm — a blend fans are eagerly anticipating.
The project marks one of Adekunle Gold’s most culturally grounded efforts yet, showcasing his commitment to honoring Nigeria’s musical icons while pushing creative boundaries.
The new album, whose title is yet to be revealed, is expected to drop later this year and will feature both contemporary and veteran acts in what promises to be one of Adekunle Gold’s most dynamic projects to date.
