Controversial Nigerian social media critic, Verydarkblackman, has reacted to a viral picture linking him to a woman’s alleged pregnancy, describing the claims as fake and malicious.
In a statement released via his social media handle on Sunday, he strongly denied any connection to the woman in question, insisting he has never met her before.
“Fellow Nigerians, I am not the man responsible for her pregnancy if she is. I have never met her in my life, and I am sure I won’t be willing to meet her ever. Please disregard this picture because it is a fake picture to tarnish my reputation. I am certain this is AI,” he wrote.
He further suggested that the woman’s enlarged belly may have been caused by the “combination of different slimming products” rather than pregnancy, emphasizing the dangers of misleading advertisements in Nigeria.
Verydarkblackman also used the opportunity to call for unity and protection against cyberbullying, stating:
“Say no to false advertising in Nigeria, protect one another, say no to bullying too. #RATELMOVEMENT”
The statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters backing his claims of AI manipulation, while critics argue the outspoken activist is only trying to protect his image amid controversy.
