Human rights activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has once again reaffirmed his call for a people-driven revolution as the only solution to Nigeria’s deep-rooted challenges.
Speaking in a fiery statement, Sowore said:
“Our own independence starts now, and it’s a continuation of what we began in 2019. We believe only a revolution can save this country.”
The Sahara Reporters publisher emphasized that despite decades of democracy, Nigerians continue to grapple with poverty, corruption, insecurity, and bad governance. He argued that the current political class has failed the people, and genuine independence can only be achieved when citizens take back their country.
Sowore, who has consistently pushed for radical reforms since his 2019 “RevolutionNow” movement, maintained that young Nigerians hold the key to reshaping the nation. He called for unity, courage, and sacrifice, stressing that the demand for true freedom is not just political but existential.
His declaration has sparked fresh conversations online, with supporters hailing him as the voice of resistance, while critics argue that revolutionary rhetoric must be matched with practical political strategies.
