Residents of Eleyin Isanlu, Kwara State, have raised alarm over the growing wave of kidnappings that has gripped their community in recent months. According to locals, armed kidnappers have been terrorizing the area, targeting young people and demanding outrageous ransoms of ₦20 million and above from families.
Community members revealed that despite repeatedly calling the attention of both state and federal authorities for over two months, no concrete action has been taken to address their plight. The silence, they say, has left them feeling abandoned and helpless.
“Many of our youths have already been kidnapped. Families are in pain, and livelihoods are being destroyed. We demand urgent action from the Kwara State Government and the Federal Government before this situation spirals completely out of control,” one resident lamented.
The community has called for immediate security intervention, including increased military and police presence, as well as proactive measures to track and dismantle the kidnapping syndicates operating in the region.
Tension remains high as families live in fear, hoping authorities act swiftly to end what they describe as a nightmare.
