Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has given full assurance to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that Ibadan’s sporting facilities are in top shape to host the Super Eagles in upcoming matches.
Makinde said the state had invested heavily in renovating and upgrading facilities to meet international standards, adding that Ibadan is fully prepared to welcome the national team.
“We are ready. Our facilities are in excellent condition, and Oyo State is eager to host the Super Eagles. Football is a unifying force in this country, and Ibadan will give the team all the support they need,” the governor affirmed.
The NFF, which has been inspecting venues across the country, is expected to make a final decision soon on which cities will host Nigeria’s home fixtures.
Football fans in Ibadan have already expressed excitement at the possibility, noting that it would boost both the city’s economy and its sporting culture.
