Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has revealed that he held what he described as a “father-to-son meeting” with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa tonight.
Speaking after the closed-door engagement, Gov. Fubara disclosed that the peace efforts championed by President Tinubu have yielded progress, noting that he and his political rival-turned-principal, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, are now working together.
“I had a father-to-son meeting with Mr. President. My principal, Nyesom Wike, and I are now working together,” Fubara said.
The comment marks a fresh twist in Rivers politics, where a year-long feud between the two political heavyweights had threatened to destabilize the state’s leadership.
Observers say the reconciliation, if sustained, could reset the political dynamics in Rivers and strengthen the ruling party’s influence in the South-South region.
