FG Launches 7MW Solar Project at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Amid Power Dispute

Barely 48 hours after a power dispute between Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), the Federal Government has inaugurated a seven-megawatt solar power project at the hospital.

The initiative is aimed at providing a reliable and sustainable power supply to AKTH, reducing dependence on the national grid and mitigating disruptions caused by disputes or power outages.

Officials highlighted that the solar project aligns with the government’s broader efforts to integrate renewable energy solutions into critical public institutions, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for patients.
