NANS President Alleges Kidnapping by Seyi Tinubu After Rejecting ₦100 Million Bribe

In a shocking revelation, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Pedro Chibuzor Obi, has accused Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, of orchestrating his kidnapping following his refusal to accept a ₦100 million bribe intended to influence the leadership of the student body.

In an exclusive interview, Obi detailed the harrowing ordeal, stating that after he declined the substantial financial offer, he was abducted by individuals allegedly acting on Seyi Tinubu's instructions. "They took me against my will, but I stood firm in my decision," Obi recounted.

This claim adds to a series of allegations against Seyi Tinubu concerning his involvement in student politics. Earlier this year, reports surfaced accusing him of using armed thugs to disrupt a NANS convention in Abuja and imposing a preferred candidate for the presidency. Additionally, some presidential aspirants petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS), alleging that Seyi Tinubu was blocking elections to install his chosen candidate, Olusola Ladoja, as NANS president .

In response to these allegations, a group named Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) issued a statement denying any interference in NANS leadership matters. They described the accusations as baseless and malicious, asserting that Seyi Tinubu has consistently supported student initiatives and worked towards fostering unity within the association .

The NANS leadership has yet to officially comment on Obi's kidnapping allegations. However, the incident has sparked widespread concern among students and civil society groups, raising questions about the influence of political figures in student affairs and the autonomy of student organizations.

As investigations into the matter continue, Nigerian students and the public await further developments and official statements from the relevant authorities.
