EFCC Chairman Olukoyede Asserts: “No Immunity for Corrupt Officials—Regardless of Party Affiliation”
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has issued a stern warning to public officials, emphasizing that individuals found guilty of embezzling public funds will be held accountable, irrespective of their political party affiliations.
In a recent statement, Olukoyede declared, “If you're caught stealing public funds, you'll be held accountable no matter your political party.” This assertion underscores the EFCC's commitment to impartial enforcement of anti-corruption laws.
Olukoyede's remarks come amid ongoing efforts by the EFCC to enhance transparency and accountability within Nigeria's public sector. The Commission has been actively monitoring local government finances and has established the Fraud Risk Assessment and Control (FRAC) department to oversee the proper utilization of public funds .
