Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, professionally known as Fireboy DML, is a prominent Nigerian singer and songwriter celebrated for his unique blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop music.

Born on February 5, 1996, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Fireboy hails from a Yoruba Christian family and is the firstborn among five siblings. 

Fireboy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adefolahan, played a significant role in shaping his musical journey. His mother was known for her discipline, while his father was notably strict, fostering a structured environment that influenced his upbringing. Despite not coming from a family of musicians, Fireboy developed a passion for music independently, starting with poetry and later transitioning into songwriting and singing.

As the eldest child, Fireboy has two younger brothers. While his family is not in the public eye, they have shown support for his musical endeavors. In 2022, Fireboy shared a heartwarming video of his family singing along to his hit song "Bandana," showcasing their pride and involvement in his success.

Raised in Abeokuta, Fireboy attended primary and secondary schools there before moving to Osun State to study English at Obafemi Awolowo University. During his time at university, he began to seriously pursue music, marking the beginning of his professional career.

Fireboy's musical style is influenced by a diverse range of artists. He grew up listening to Celine Dion and Elton John, thanks to his father's musical preferences, and to Yinka Ayefele and Tope Alabi, influenced by his mother's choices. These early exposures shaped his appreciation for music and its emotional depth.
