House of Representatives Donates N18 Million to Enugu Tanker Explosion Victims

The Nigerian House of Representatives has announced a donation of N18 million to support victims of the recent fuel tanker explosion in Enugu State.

The tragic incident occurred on the 9th Mile/82 Division Expressway, Ugwuonyeama section, when a truck loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) collided with several vehicles, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries.​

Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, expressed profound sorrow over the incident, offering condolences to the bereaved families and the government of Enugu State. He described the explosion as a "horrific" event and emphasized the need for urgent action to address the deplorable state of the nation's roads, particularly the 9th Mile Expressway. Kalu urged the federal government to implement safety measures and educate citizens to prevent such tragedies in the future. ​
