Dressed in a vibrant yellow Karreta costume—a nod to the Afro-Brazilian heritage of Lagos Island—Elliot joined thousands of revelers in celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of the region.The Lagos Fanti Carnival, a tradition dating back to 1890, is a vibrant fusion of Nigerian, Brazilian, and Cuban cultures, featuring samba-inspired music, elaborate parades, and colorful costumes. This year's festivities, supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, attracted over 10,000 attendees and garnered more than 50,000 livestream viewers.
