Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Denies Plans to Join APC Amid Speculations



Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has firmly rejected rumors suggesting his intention to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor's commitment to the PDP was reaffirmed by Charles Aniagwu, the state's Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads, and Public Information, who described the speculations as "sinister and baseless." Aniagwu emphasized that such reports were the work of "jobless political hirelings" aiming to destabilize the party .​

The PDP Delta State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, also condemned the rumors, labeling them as the handiwork of "failed agents of destabilization and treachery." He urged the public to disregard the unfounded speculations and reassured that the governor remains dedicated to his governance agenda .​

Despite these denials, political analysts continue to monitor the situation closely, given the potential implications for the state's political landscape.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding any plans for Governor Oborevwori to switch parties.
