APC South-South Demands Apology from VeryDarkMan Over Remarks on Senate President Akpabio

The South-South Zonal chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a one-week ultimatum to social media activist VeryDarkMan, urging him to tender a public apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

This demand follows a recent video in which VeryDarkMan allegedly disparaged Akpabio, prompting the party's leadership to take action.

In a statement released today, the APC South-South Zonal Organizing Secretary, Blessing Agbomhere, condemned the activist's comments as baseless and politically motivated. Agbomhere emphasized that such attacks on the Senate President, who holds the third-highest office in Nigeria, undermine the dignity of the National Assembly and are unbecoming of individuals claiming to champion social justice.

"We call on VeryDarkMan to retract his statements and issue a formal apology to Senator Akpabio within seven days. Failure to do so will compel the party to consider further disciplinary measures," Agbomhere stated.

The APC South-South leadership has reiterated its unwavering support for Senator Akpabio, describing him as a dedicated public servant committed to the progress of the nation. They have also cautioned against attempts to destabilize the Senate through unwarranted attacks on its leadership.

As of now, VeryDarkMan has not publicly responded to the APC's ultimatum. His recent video, which allegedly contained the disparaging remarks, has garnered significant attention on social media platforms.

The situation underscores the growing intersection of social media activism and political discourse in Nigeria, highlighting the influence of online personalities in shaping public opinion and the responsibilities that come with such platforms.
