Senator Shehu Sani Sets the Record Straight on Kaduna State Votes in 2023 Presidential Election

Senator Shehu Sani has responded to claims from certain individuals in Kaduna State who may attempt to take credit for delivering victory to President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Sani, who has been an outspoken political figure, emphasized that those making such claims are misrepresenting the election results in the state.

Taking to social media, Sani shared the official vote tally for the 2023 election in Kaduna, stating, “In case anyone from Kaduna tries to lie about delivering Tinubu and claiming entitlement, here are the facts.” He proceeded to outline the actual results from the state, which showed a clear picture of the electoral dynamics.

According to Sani, the final vote count in Kaduna State was as follows:

  • Atiku Abubakar (PDP): 554,360 votes
  • Bola Ahmed Tinubu (APC): 399,294 votes
  • Peter Obi (Labour Party): 294,494 votes

Sani also pointed out the circumstances surrounding Peter Obi's campaign in the state, noting that Obi was denied the use of the Arewa House for his campaign despite having already paid for the venue. This, according to Sani, further complicated the political environment during the election.

Senator Sani’s comments serve to correct any perceived misinformation regarding the election results and remind the public of the true political dynamics in Kaduna State during the 2023 race. The figures presented by Sani highlight the competitiveness of the election, with both Atiku and Obi securing substantial votes in the state.

As political conversations around the 2023 elections continue, Sani's clarification serves as a direct rebuttal to those seeking to claim undue credit for Tinubu’s performance in Kaduna.
