Rivers People Will Resist Wike’s Influence, Says Barr. Thierry Nwala

Barrister Thierry Nwala, a prominent Rivers State advocate, has vowed that the people of Rivers will not allow former Governor Nyesom Wike to stifle the progress they have begun to see under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Speaking to reporters recently, Nwala expressed strong opposition to any efforts that might undermine the positive changes currently unfolding in the state.

According to Nwala, the citizens of Rivers have already witnessed the beginnings of meaningful transformation under Governor Fubara's administration, which he described as a "glimpse of light" for the state's future. He emphasized that the people have been hopeful for a shift towards improved governance, development, and economic prosperity.

“There is a clear shift happening in Rivers State, and the people are optimistic about the future," Nwala remarked. "Governor Fubara has opened a new chapter of progress, and the people are not willing to let anyone, particularly former Governor Wike, extinguish this newfound hope.”

Nwala’s comments come amid growing concerns over the influence of Wike, who was governor for eight years, and his continuing presence in the state’s political landscape. While some view Wike's legacy as one of significant development, others are concerned that his continued influence could derail the state's current trajectory under Fubara's leadership.

Rivers citizens, according to Nwala, are determined to protect the progress they have seen so far. He warned that any attempts to revert the state to old ways of politics and governance would be met with strong resistance from the people.

“Rivers people will not be silenced or manipulated,” Nwala asserted. “We have seen the light, and we will not allow anyone, not even Wike, to quench it. Governor Fubara’s leadership represents a new dawn for our state, and we stand with him in moving forward.”

As political dynamics in Rivers continue to evolve, the next few months will be critical in shaping the future of the state. However, with voices like Nwala's rising in support of Fubara's vision, it is clear that the people of Rivers are united in their desire for positive change and will not back down in the face of opposition.
