Davido Criticizes Osun State Police Commissioner Amid Political Turmoil

Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has publicly criticized Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, over the escalating political unrest in the state.

The tension stems from a dispute between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the reinstatement of local government chairmen dismissed by the previous administration. The situation intensified on February 17, 2025, when gunfire erupted across several local government secretariats as dismissed chairmen and their supporters attempted to reclaim their offices, facing resistance from PDP members.

In response to the unrest, Governor Ademola Adeleke accused former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of orchestrating the chaos, alleging that Oyetola was collaborating with top security officials, including CP Mohammed Abba, to destabilize the state.

Davido, a native of Osun State and nephew to Governor Adeleke, took to social media to express his frustration. He posted a photo of CP Abba with a stern warning:

"Mr. Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!! Make we all kuku mad!! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post you every day, everywhere, Mr. man!!! Try me, fucker."

In another post, Davido intensified his criticism, stating:

"Mr. Umar Abba, Osun State Commissioner, you are a disgrace to your children!! Game on, FUCKER!!!! All of us go mad together!! W*rey!!!"

As of now, neither CP Mohammed Umar Abba nor the Osun State Police Command has issued an official response to Davido's claims.

The situation remains tense, with both political figures and citizens closely monitoring developments in Osun State.
