“CNG is the Best”: Lagos Driver Praises Cost-Effectiveness of Gas Conversion

Akinsanya Yekin, a driver based in Lagos, has shared his positive experience after converting his vehicle to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Traveling from Agidingbi, Lagos to Ibadan, Oyo, Yekin reported spending just ₦1,737 on gas, a significant savings compared to traditional petrol costs.

Yekin highlighted the efficiency of CNG, stating, “There’s nothing to compare this to; it’s the best. My engine is doing fine, and my AC is okay.” He contrasted this with his previous expenses when using petrol, which often amounted to around ₦50,000 for a round trip.

His testimonial comes amid a growing push in Nigeria to adopt CNG as an alternative fuel source, particularly as rising petrol prices continue to strain consumers. Many drivers are exploring CNG conversion as a more economical and environmentally friendly option.

Yekin's experience resonates with a broader audience seeking sustainable transportation solutions, and it underscores the potential benefits of CNG in reducing fuel costs while maintaining vehicle performance. As more individuals consider gas conversion, it could signal a shift in fuel consumption patterns in Nigeria.
