Imposter Poses as Bride’s Sister and Steals Phone at Wedding

In an unusual and unsettling incident, a woman who fraudulently posed as the bride’s sister managed to steal the bride’s phone during a wedding ceremony in Lagos. The incident has left guests and the bride shocked and has sparked a police investigation.

The dramatic event unfolded on Saturday at a wedding reception where the impostor mingled seamlessly with the guests, posing as a close relative of the bride. The woman, whose identity is still under investigation, gained access to the bride's personal belongings and took the phone, which was later discovered missing.

According to eyewitnesses, the impostor was seen interacting with several guests and even participating in some of the wedding activities, making her presence appear legitimate. It was only later in the evening when the bride realized her phone was missing that the ruse was discovered.

“We were all in disbelief when the bride noticed her phone was gone,” said one of the guests. “It was shocking to learn that someone had pretended to be family and stolen from her on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life.”

The bride, who has chosen to remain anonymous, reported the theft to the police, and an investigation is underway to locate the suspect. Authorities are reviewing security footage from the venue and interviewing witnesses to identify the imposter and recover the stolen phone.
