Supreme Court throws out petition challenging Imo state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha?s election
A petition challenging the emergence of Governor Emeka Ihedioha as the PDP candidate in the March 6th 2019 governorship election in Imo state has been thrown out by the Supreme court.

A PDP chieftain in the state, Samuel Nnaemeke Anyanwu had approached the apex court to challenge the outcome of the party's governorship primary that saw Ihedioha emerge as the party's gubernatorial candidate.

A five-man panel of the apex court in a unanimous judgment today Tuesday July 30th, upheld the earlier concurrent judgments of the trial court and the Court of Appeal, Owerri, which held in favor of Ihedioha on the grounds that Anyannwu did not prove his case that the primary was manipulated and marred by acts of thuggery and other vices.

Justice John Okoro, in the lead judgment, dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit and awarded a N200,000 cost against Anyanwu
