Senator Shehu Sani (PRP-Kaduna Central) has reacted to claims by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, that some states in Nigeria experience constant power supply.
Fashola, a former Lagos State governor, made the claim in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday.
“Sitting down here I can tell you some states that have almost 24 hours – Kebbi, Yobe. Some have five, some have 10 and there are still outages,” Fashola said.
He noted that supply in some states is due to the increase in the transmission capacity, noting that the transmission capacity has grown to about 8,100 watts as of December 2018
Reacting in a post on his Twitter handle, Shehu Sani mocked the minister.
He wrote, “Some of the states that now enjoy 24 hours of electricity are Uranus, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Neptune.”
