President Buhari cancels “casual leave’’ as mark of respect for soldiers killed in Borno |
President Buhari has cancelled his planned five-day “casual leave’’ as a mark of respect for victims of Boko Haram attacks across the battlefields in the Northeast zone of the country.
According to reports, President Buhari was scheduled to have gone on casual leave at his home in Daura, Katsina State from today November 27 to December 2nd. Presidential sources say the cancellation is to avail the President enough time to continue his security meetings with all the security chiefs.
President Buhari is said to have been devastated by the killing of over 100 soldiers by Boko Haram members in Metele, Borno state on November 18th. He has been meeting with the security chiefs since the sad incident.
His planned state visit to Edo state today Tuesday November 26th was cancelled yesterday. He would be proceeding to Maiduguri, Borno state tomorrow, Wednesday November 28th.
