Mr.Gregory Tarkumbur

The administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Gombe State, Mr.Gregory Tarkumbur, and two retired INEC staff: Bunu Mulima and Yunusa Ali Biri were on Thursday, July 13, arraigned before Justice Abubakar Jauro of High Court 9 Gombe, over N138 million bribe allegedly offered them by former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke, in the build-up to the 2015 general elections.

They were brought before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The offence was committed between March and May, 2015, in contravention of Section 9 (1) (2) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges read to them. In view of their plea, prosecution counsel Abubakar Aliyu urged the court to fix a date for trial.

While adjourning the case to 1st and 2nd November, 2017 for hearing, Justice Jauro admitted the accused persons to bail on the terms of the administrative bail earlier granted them by the Commission.
