In an emotional and heartfelt open letter, popular Nigerian comedian, Sabinus, has poured out his feelings over his estranged relationship with his wife, Obiageli.
In the letter, Sabinus expressed his deep confusion and pain over the breakdown of their marriage, questioning what went wrong despite all the sacrifices he made for his family."I’m compelled to ask, what have I done wrong?" Sabinus begins, addressing his wife. "I’ve provided for you and our child, sacrificing my own comfort to ensure yours." The comedian, known for his humor and vibrant persona, reflected on the efforts he made to ensure the comfort of his family, both in Nigeria and abroad.
One of the standout gestures he mentions is the construction of a beautiful 4-bedroom bungalow in Isiokpo, his wife’s hometown. "I built a beautiful 4-bedroom bungalow for your parents in Isiokpo, a gesture of love and respect," he wrote, emphasizing how much he valued his in-laws and their family.
Sabinus further outlined his financial contributions, noting his tireless work in the entertainment industry to provide a luxurious life for his wife and child. Despite his efforts, Sabinus highlighted a disagreement over the location of their living arrangements. He built a mansion in Port Harcourt, but due to environmental concerns, his wife opted to live in London instead. Sabinus supported this decision, even though it meant maintaining two separate homes. "I understood and supported your decision to reside in London instead."
The comedian also mentioned his significant monthly financial support to ensure his family lived comfortably in London, revealing that he spent over £50,000 each month. Additionally, he funded his wife’s education, supporting her throughout her master's degree in the UK.
“I’ve done all this because I love you and our child,” Sabinus shared in the letter. He spoke candidly about his feelings of confusion, asking, “What changed? Why has my hustle, the very thing that provided for us, become a problem for you?”
