CUPP Criticizes EFCC Leadership, Calls It Incompetent Amid Bobrisky Investigation

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has condemned the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), labeling it as incompetent in light of recent allegations involving social media personality Bobrisky. The EFCC has launched an investigation into claims that some of its officers accepted ₦15 million from Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, in an attempt to dismiss money laundering charges against him.

CUPP spokespersons expressed dismay at the ongoing allegations, arguing that the EFCC's integrity is under serious question. “The leadership of the EFCC has failed to uphold its mandate, and this situation exemplifies the incompetence that has plagued the commission,” they stated.

The organization called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations, urging that any officers found culpable should face the full extent of the law. They emphasized the importance of restoring public confidence in the EFCC, which they believe has been compromised by such claims.

As the investigation unfolds, the public and political observers are keenly watching for developments, hoping for accountability and transparency from the commission amid growing concerns about corruption within its ranks.
