THE CONCLUSION:
Rest In Peace Samuel.
Today I had to drive back to the police station to have the matter concluded.
I broke into tears when the father of the deceased (accident victim) walk shakingly into the station strenghtless with the picture of his late son in his breast pocket.
He could barely utter a word, He sat there in disbelief.
I am told the mother of the boy is almost going insane as she keeps talking as if the late son is still alive.
Another young man who accompanied them said his siblings have lost appetite as one of them keeps saying "SAMUEL BYE BYE"
We got to the point the police asked for the agreed money to be brought out. As the money was being presented the boy's father could not control the tears any longer as they came rushing down like a heavy rain.
There after the police officers asked us to please excuse them to have a brief meeting with the family of the deceased. I knew it was time for them to do their kabukabu. This set of people are the ones giving the police bad image. Unknown to them I had an insider in the meeting. They heartlessly took 20.000 from the deceased family.
God bless officers like Daniella Awele Eyitemi Ejueyitchie , Supol Iquot, my sister DSP (Dr) Glory Isong and other good men of the Nigerian Police Force.
Finally, after a little gragra because I made sure they got not the 100k they had demanded for bail bond of the driver and his car, we proceeded. And boom another officer at the gate refused opening the gate until he is given a bottle of beer.
I thank God I was able to stand in the gab from beginning to the end.
One proverb I won't forget. When the inspector shouted at the father of the deceased to control his emotions, He responded.
"Da ibagha na eduok awo ndedeng mmong ubakasen yak anye nmiyine eded"
(You can't pour cold water on someone in the morning without him opening his teeth)
Selah!
What is life?
Such is life!!!

Oh Life!
So the family who's child was knocked down yesterday came to the police station to negotiate and bargain.
They started from 5 million naira and landed at 300.000 thousand naira only!
The boy had been buried yesterday but today was sold!
If the parent had not sent him on errand I believe he would still be alive and perhaps become a governor or president someday.
So after everything the IPO brought his own wahala by demanding for 100k bail bond whereas it is boldly written in their office BAIL IS FREE!
I had to call Daniella Awele Eyitemi Ejueyitchie one of the best police officer Nigeria has.
She immediately changed the narrative and truly bail was free.
Witnesses who were at the scene confirmed the fault was from the little boy who ran into the road without caution.
The driver tried to dodge but was helpless.
The guy confessed to have had a dream a day before the accident happened. And the scenerio that played out was exactly what he saw in his dream.
Finally:
Parent do not send your minors on errand especially if they have to cross an express.
Never joke with your dream.
Life has no duplicate.
Note:
I had to blur his face for fear of stigmatisation.
